Within two days, NON-DRILL:

  1. Designed a full prototype

    • Nested dual-tube design (one tube inside wider stabilising sleeve)

    • A reinforced baseplate

    • Stiffener plates added for load distribution

  2. Modelled load-bearing performance

  3. Fabricated a working prototype in-house

  4. Prepared compliance-ready engineering documentation

CASE STUDY 1:
Rapid Engineering Response for High-Pressure Formwork Support

THE CHALLENGE

A Tier-1 contractor approached NON-DRILL with a critical engineering problem on an infrastructure project.  They needed to confirm whether the NON-DRILL anchor connection could support a dual-purpose post system:

  • 1.2m high formwork support, with

  • An additional 1m of edge protection,

  • All subject to 2.3 kPa of concrete pressure.

 

This scenario required a solution that offered high structural strength, no drilling, and rapid deployment, as the project’s timeline could

not accommodate conventional engineering lead times.

INDUSTRY: Civil Infrastructure & Transport

CLIENT: Major Contractor (Undercover Pedestrian Walkway Project)

SERVICE PROVIDED: Custom Engineering + Prototype Development + Zero-Drill Integration

THE CHALLENGE

A contractor needed to install a covered pedestrian walkway that connected directly to standard Jersey barriers. The existing industry solution required:

  • Four large drilled holes per post

  • Significant installation time

  • Long-term damage to the barrier asset

  • Complicated removal and reinstatement

  • Ongoing maintenance issues

Drilling-based design was slow, destructive, and expensive, and the contractor wanted a safer, faster,

drill-free alternative engineered to withstand wind loading requirements.  This challenge was ideal for Non-Drill’s engineering capability.

THE SOLUTION

 

The resulting system delivered:​

  • Zero drilling into Jersey barriers

  • Rapid installation and removal without specialised trades

  • Wind-load compliant design suitable for covered walkway use

  • Foldable system for easy transport & storage

  • Structural integrity and safety compliance

  • A reusable system that can be redeployed for future projects

 

This approach solved the immediate challenge and redefined the contractor’s method for delivering covered access routes on all future jobs.

OUR RESPONSE: A Zero-Drill Foldable System Engineered for Strength

 

Working closely with the contractor’s engineering team, we designed a custom foldable walkway support system that attached securely to Jersey barriers using the our Zero-Drill Connection, eliminating all drilling.  The design included:

  • A foldable post assembly (for transport, storage & rapid deployment)

  • A custom connection interface engineered specifically for barrier geometry

  • Reinforced components designed to withstand wind loading conditions

  • A modular structure to support roofing and cover components

  • Zero impact on the barrier asset - no drilling, cutting, or surface damage

Because Non-Drill controls its design, engineering, and fabrication pipeline, the team was able to move from concept → engineered design → prototype with commercial speed.
